I’m Pavel Pokorny, a photographer from the Czech Republic, originally from a small village just outside Prague. I discovered photography as an escape from a demanding professional life and as a way to slow down and truly relax. What began as a personal refuge gradually became a serious creative pursuit. Behind the camera, I find focus, calm and a deeper connection to the moment.
My work is driven by authenticity, atmosphere and simplicity. I’m drawn to natural light, honest emotions and clean composition, aiming to create images that feel timeless rather than trendy. Photography allows me to step away from everyday responsibilities and observe people and environments with a more attentive and intuitive perspective.
I work with both digital and analog photography. Digital gives me speed and flexibility, while analog slows the process down and brings a different level of intention, patience and craftsmanship. Both approaches influence the way I see light, composition and visual storytelling.
I spend a significant amount of time in southern Portugal, particularly in the Alentejo region, where the landscape, light and slower rhythm of life strongly influence my work and creative approach.
For me, photography is not only about the final image, but about the process itself — the quiet moments, the focus and the sense of freedom that comes with creating something honest and meaningful.
I’m always open to new collaborations, especially with models, athletes and creative individuals who value authenticity and a natural approach in front of the camera.
